Axis guide

8values Diplomatic Axis: Nation vs Globe

The Diplomatic axis places quiz answers between national sovereignty and strength on one side and international cooperation on the other.

What the Diplomatic axis measures

Diplomatic politics includes how people think about borders, military posture, international institutions, peace, alliances, and political integration. 8values condenses that field into the Nation and Globe pair.

A diplomatic score does not fully describe views on every conflict or treaty. It shows the broad direction produced by the statements in this questionnaire.

The two values

Nation

Higher Nation scores emphasize patriotism, sovereignty, national strength, and a more nation-centered foreign policy orientation.

Globe

Higher Globe scores emphasize peace, diplomacy, cooperation, integration, and a more international political orientation.

Reading a Diplomatic result

The results page displays Globe directly and Nation as its complement. Look at the numeric score before relying on a range label such as Balanced, Internationalist, or Nationalist.

Use the Diplomatic axis together with the Economic, Civil, and Societal axes to understand a result profile.

Example interpretation

A high Globe result usually means answers favored international cooperation, diplomacy, and weaker national boundaries in political problem solving. A high Nation result usually means answers favored sovereignty, security, military strength, or national priority. Centered results can still include strong views that pull in opposite directions.
